2023 Veterans Day Events & Parades in Tennessee

As the nation pays tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the military, Tennessee stands ready to honor its veterans with a range of events and parades for Veterans Day 2023.

This is a time for communities across the state to come together and express their deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by our veterans.

In this blog post, we will highlight some of the noteworthy Veterans Day events and parades taking place in Tennessee this year.

Sat., Nov. 11, 2023, 10 AM

Lovelace and University Street - Downtown Martin

The 2023 Martin Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal is Robert Chappell. Mr Chappell is the only remaining WWII veteran in Weakley County.

here are only 160,000 WWII veterans left in the country. Chappell celebrated his 100th birthday on October 4th.

The Missing Man ceremony will be held immediately following the parade at the City of Martin Public Library Stage.

The Grove at GPAC - Germantown

Join MWS for a FREE musical salute to our veterans!

Memphis Wind Symphony will perform a variety of uplifting classics and new pieces honoring our country, the inspirational men and women who have served, and those who are serving now.

Come enjoy an Earth, Wind and Fire medley, “God of Our Fathers,” a video tribute to December 7, and the Jack Lawrence Songbook along with many other selections.

W.J. Freeman Park - Bartlett

Join us as we honor all veterans who have served in the armed forces. The ceremony will take place under the A. Keith McDonald Pavilion next to Veterans Park.

Oldham Drive - Nolensville

The Town of Nolensville is having a special parade to celebrate and honor our veterans.

Sat., Nov. 11, 2023, 10 AM – 12 PM

Broadway - Nashville

Nashville's annual Veterans Day Parade is one of the largest in the state, featuring a procession of military units, veterans' organizations, and community groups. It's a day of patriotic pride and recognition in the heart of Music City.


Sat., Nov. 11, 2023, 2 - 3 PM

Country Music Hall of Fame - Nashville

Come hear songs written and performed by veterans through Operation Song at the Country Music Hall of Fame for its Veterans Day Celebration. Hear the stories of veterans as they have written them to music and support and empower them here locally.

5093 Murfreesboro Road - La Vergne

In honor of the veterans who have served in the armed forces, the City of La Vergne will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony in the boardroom at City Hall. The ceremony will feature several speakers and time honoring and thanking military veterans.

Picnic Road - Winchester

Join us for a fun, family friendly, untimed 5K color run/walk to celebrate and honor our veterans! There will be a 5K option as well as a 1 mile option.

Kids 10 and under are free but will not get a packet/shirt. Save money with group rates!


Fri., Nov. 10th, 2023, 11 AM

West Main and Fifth Avenue - Downtown Franklin

The annual salute to those who served our country in Williamson County is set for Friday, Nov. 10 in downtown Franklin.

Prior to the parade, a reception will be held at the Williamson County Archives from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. for local veterans and their families.

Roxy Regional Theatre - Clarksville

For this event, host Jeff Bornstein is bringing together an incredible lineup of world-class performers, including magician Kevin King and juggler Scott Cantrell.

Free admission for active-duty military and veterans.

West Main and Wilson County Veterans Plaza - Lebanon

The parade will start at 10 am at the library and continue to Veterans Plaza where a celebration will begin at 11 am.

Tennessee National Guard Armory, 1801 S. Holtzclaw Ave. - Chattanooga

The Chattanooga Area Veterans Council, along with Hamilton County Government and the city of Chattanooga, invites the community to join them in celebrating the service of all veterans of the Armed Forces.

There is free parking. Veterans are encouraged to wear an item identifying their branch of service.

Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum, 500 Howard Baker Jr Ave - Knoxville

Knoxville hosts a lively Veterans Day Parade with the participation of local schools, military units, and community organizations. The event serves as a reminder of the importance of veterans' contributions to the nation.

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies Plaza - Gatlinburg

Honoring our nation’s veterans for their heroic acts of service and sacrifice, Gatlinburg will host its 24th Annual Veterans Day Celebration.

The community-wide event will begin, ushering in the ceremonious holiday.

The ceremony will recognize the bravery, selflessness, and spirit of our military veterans and their families who have made sacrifices to protect the freedoms of the United States.

The ceremony will be a community-wide affair, featuring musical entertainment, special presentations, and well-deserved recognitions by locals and special guests, alike.
